Software Quality Assurance

Software Development and Engineering Practices

Software Quality Assurance (QA) is the discipline and set of processes used to ensure a software product meets defined quality standards before release, including systematic testing, code reviews, and process audits. QA engineers design test plans, write automated and manual test cases, and track defects throughout development. It is distinct from quality control in that QA focuses on preventing defects through process improvement, not just detecting them.
