Resource Consumption Accounting
Finance and Accounting
Resource Consumption Accounting (RCA) is a management accounting method that models the costs and consumption of an organization's resources to provide more accurate insight into cost behavior and profitability than traditional costing methods. It combines elements of German cost accounting (Grenzplankostenrechnung) with activity-based costing to track both fixed and variable resource costs at a granular level. It is used by cost accountants and financial managers, particularly in manufacturing, to support pricing and capacity decisions.
