Predictive Mapping

Data Science, Analytics and AI/ML

Predictive mapping is the use of geographic information systems (GIS) and statistical modeling to forecast where future events or conditions are likely to occur, such as disease outbreaks, crime hotspots, or wildfire risk. Analysts combine spatial data layers with predictive algorithms to generate maps that highlight areas of elevated risk or opportunity. Urban planners, public health officials, and environmental scientists use these maps to guide resource allocation and preventive action.
