Pre-Anesthetic Assessment

A pre-anesthetic assessment is a clinical evaluation performed before a surgical or medical procedure to determine a patient's fitness for anesthesia. Anesthesiologists or nurse anesthetists review the patient's medical history, medications, allergies, and physical exam findings, along with lab or imaging results, to identify risks and select the appropriate anesthesia plan. This assessment helps prevent complications during and after surgery by tailoring anesthetic care to the individual patient.
