Patient Transfer Equipment

Healthcare and Medical

Patient transfer equipment includes devices such as gait belts, transfer boards, mechanical lifts, and slide sheets used to safely move patients between beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, or other surfaces. Nurses, nursing assistants, and caregivers use this equipment to reduce the risk of patient falls and to prevent musculoskeletal injuries to themselves during transfers. Proper training in using this equipment is a standard part of clinical and caregiving education.
