Patient Education and Support

Healthcare and Medical

This is the practice of helping patients and their families understand diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques so they can participate actively in their own health decisions. Nurses, health educators, and allied health professionals use it to improve treatment adherence, reduce anxiety, and support recovery or chronic disease management. It often involves verbal counseling, written materials, demonstrations, and answering questions in accessible, non-technical language.
