Oberon

Programming Languages

Oberon is a general-purpose programming language and operating system developed in the late 1980s by Niklaus Wirth (creator of Pascal) and Jürg Gutknecht at ETH Zurich. It was designed to be a simpler, more modular successor to Pascal and Modula-2, emphasizing minimalism and clarity in language design. It has had significant influence on later languages and systems research, though it saw limited use outside academic and research settings.
