Minimal API
Web Development
Minimal API is a lightweight approach to building HTTP APIs with reduced boilerplate, most notably a feature introduced in ASP.NET Core 6 that lets developers define routes and handlers directly without controllers, startup classes, or extensive configuration. It's popular among .NET developers building microservices or small web services who want faster setup and less ceremony than traditional MVC-style APIs. The pattern is also used more generally to describe similarly minimal, low-configuration API frameworks in other languages.
