Mindset refers to the set of beliefs and attitudes that shape how a person interprets and responds to situations, most notably popularized by psychologist Carol Dweck's distinction between a "fixed mindset" (belief that abilities are static) and a "growth mindset" (belief that abilities can be developed through effort). It's widely applied in education, coaching, and business leadership to encourage resilience, learning from failure, and continuous improvement. Employers and coaches often cite mindset as a key soft-skill differentiator alongside technical ability.
