JLPT
Certifications and Credentials
The JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test) is a standardized test that evaluates and certifies the Japanese language proficiency of non-native speakers, administered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services. It has five levels, from N5 (basic) to N1 (advanced), assessing reading comprehension, listening, and vocabulary/grammar knowledge. Many employers, universities, and visa programs in Japan use JLPT certification as a qualification benchmark.
