Java EE
Software Development and Engineering Practices
Java EE (Java Platform, Enterprise Edition) is a set of specifications extending Java SE with APIs and runtime environments for developing large-scale, distributed, multi-tier enterprise applications, including web services, servlets, and messaging. It was used by enterprise developers to build robust backend systems for businesses, running on application servers like WildFly, GlassFish, or WebLogic. Oracle transferred the project to the Eclipse Foundation in 2017, where it was rebranded as Jakarta EE.
