Graph theory is a branch of discrete mathematics studying graphs, which are structures made of vertices (nodes) connected by edges, used to model pairwise relationships between objects. It underlies algorithms for network routing, social network analysis, scheduling, and computer science problems like shortest-path finding and graph traversal. Computer scientists, mathematicians, and data scientists apply graph theory concepts to solve optimization and connectivity problems across many industries.
