Clinical Social Work
Healthcare and Medical
Clinical social work is a mental health specialty in which licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs) diagnose and treat emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues, often through psychotherapy, in addition to connecting clients with social services. They work in hospitals, private practices, schools, and community agencies, blending clinical treatment with attention to social and environmental factors affecting a client's wellbeing. Licensure typically requires a master's degree in social work plus supervised clinical hours.
