Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Other

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art and combat sport that emphasizes ground fighting, joint locks, and chokeholds to control or submit an opponent, allowing a smaller person to defeat a larger one through leverage and technique. Practitioners train at academies through drilling, sparring ("rolling"), and competition, progressing through a belt ranking system from white to black. It has surged in popularity worldwide both as a self-defense discipline and as the technical foundation for mixed martial arts.
