Apache Struts is an open-source framework for building Java web applications, implementing the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture to separate business logic from presentation. It was widely used in enterprise Java applications in the 2000s and 2010s for structuring web application code. It gained notoriety for serious security vulnerabilities, most notably one exploited in the 2017 Equifax data breach, which affected millions of consumers' personal data.
