Amazon Video Direct

Video, Photography and Film Production

Amazon Video Direct (AVD) was a self-service platform that allowed video content creators, filmmakers, and studios to upload and distribute their videos directly to Amazon's streaming services, including Prime Video, without needing a traditional distribution deal. It offered various monetization options like subscription (Prime), transactional (rent/buy), free with ads (originally via a revenue-share pool), and licensing. Amazon has since folded much of this functionality into other creator and publishing tools within its video ecosystem.
