Amazon Macie is a fully managed data security and data privacy service that uses machine learning and pattern matching to discover, classify, and protect sensitive data stored in Amazon S3, such as personally identifiable information (PII) and financial data. It's used by security and compliance teams to monitor data exposure risks and meet regulatory requirements like GDPR and HIPAA. Macie generates findings and alerts that integrate with AWS Security Hub for centralized monitoring.
