Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) is a training program developed by the American College of Surgeons that teaches a standardized, systematic approach to assessing and managing severely injured trauma patients. It is widely taken by physicians, surgeons, and emergency medical personnel to ensure consistent, rapid initial trauma care in the critical first hour after injury. The course covers primary and secondary patient surveys, airway management, and hemorrhage control.
