What we do
Vari-Lite pioneered automated, computer-controlled moving stage lighting in the early 1980s, revolutionizing concert, theatrical, television, and touring production lighting. Originally an independent Dallas, Texas company (an outgrowth of the sound company Showco), its manufacturing business was sold to Genlyte Group in 2002, which was acquired by Philips in 2008; the brand now operates as part of Signify's entertainment lighting business. Note: confidence on current HQ location is moderate, as the brand no longer functions as an independently headquartered company.
