What we do
Polar Air Cargo is an American cargo airline operating Boeing 747 and 777 freighters, founded in 1993 and long known for its joint venture between Atlas Air Worldwide and DHL Express (formed in 2006). In February 2025 Atlas Air and DHL announced the dissolution of that joint venture, with Atlas Air acquiring full ownership; as of early 2026 Polar continues limited freighter operations as a wholly owned Atlas Air subsidiary.
