What we do
North Sails is a sailmaking company that designs and manufactures sails, sailcloth, and technical apparel for racing and cruising sailors worldwide. Founded in 1957, it is now part of North Technology Group, a marine-industry conglomerate owned by UK private equity firm Oakley Capital, which in 2024 also acquired rival sailmakers Doyle Sails and Quantum Sails.
