NANA Regional Corporation is one of thirteen Alaska Native Regional Corporations created under the 1971 Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, owned by roughly 15,000 Inupiat shareholders. It manages about 2.28 million acres in northwest Alaska and generates revenue through mining partnerships (notably the Red Dog zinc mine), government contracting subsidiaries, and other business lines.
