What we do

Lost Roads Publishers is a small American independent press founded in Arkansas in 1976 by poet Frank Stanford, dedicated to publishing contemporary poetry and literature. After Stanford's death it was run for decades by poet C.D. Wright with Forrest Gander, and has been led by executive editor Susan Scarlata since 2009.
