Ingram Barge Company, founded in 1946, operates a fleet of nearly 4,000 barges and over 80 linehaul towboats, making it the largest carrier on the U.S. inland waterway system. It transports petroleum, coal, crushed stone, and other bulk cargo along the Mississippi, Ohio, and other inland rivers. It is a subsidiary of Ingram Industries, part of the Ingram Marine Group.
