Gulf Oil is a legacy American petroleum brand originally founded in 1901 as one of the 'Seven Sisters' major oil companies; the original Gulf Oil Corporation merged into Chevron in 1985. Today the U.S. Gulf-branded fuel distribution and gas station business operates as Gulf Oil Limited Partnership, which was acquired by RaceTrac (through its Metroplex Energy subsidiary) in December 2023, while international rights outside the Americas are held separately by the Hinduja Group's Gulf Oil International.
