Food 4 Less is a no-frills, warehouse-style discount grocery store chain, the largest version of which is owned by Kroger and operates primarily in Southern California and the Chicago metropolitan area (branded Foods Co. in northern/central California). Customers bag their own groceries to keep costs low; the chain traces its warehouse-store format back to the 1930s under founder Lou Falley.
