eMusic is an online digital music (and formerly audiobook) subscription store that allows members to download a set number of DRM-free MP3 tracks per month, historically emphasizing independent-label catalogs. Founded in the 1990s, it has changed hands several times, including ownership by Universal Music and JDS Capital Management, and was acquired by Israeli media company TriPlay in 2015.
