What we do
Deseret Power Railway is a private, electrified short-line railroad spanning about 35 miles across northeastern Utah and northwestern Colorado, whose sole function is hauling coal from the Deserado Mine to the Bonanza Power Plant. It is owned and operated by Deseret Power (Deseret Generation & Transmission Cooperative) and uses an overhead catenary electrification system.
