What we do
Carter Aviation Technologies is a privately held aerospace research and development company founded in 1994 by Jay Carter Jr. that develops slowed rotor/compound (SR/C) aircraft technology combining rotor and wing lift for efficient, high-speed vertical takeoff flight. Rather than manufacturing production aircraft, it licenses its technology to other companies; it sold its slowed-rotor technology to Jaunt Air Mobility in 2019 and continues research into new aviation concepts.
