What we do
Blue Flint Ethanol is a corn ethanol production plant located in Underwood, North Dakota, notable for using waste heat from the adjacent Coal Creek Station coal-fired power plant to power its production process, making it one of the first U.S. ethanol plants to do so. It processes millions of bushels of corn annually into ethanol fuel and distillers grains, and was sold along with Coal Creek Station by Great River Energy to Rainbow Energy Center in 2022.
