Barneys New York was a luxury department store chain founded in 1923 in New York City. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2019 and closed all its stores by early 2020; the brand's intellectual property was acquired by Authentic Brands Group, which has since relaunched it in a smaller form via 'Barneys at Saks' shop-in-shop locations and international licensing partnerships.
