What we do
American Seating Company, founded in 1886 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, manufactures passenger seating for city buses, light rail, and motorcoaches, and was historically a major maker of stadium, theater, and school seating (including seats for Yankee Stadium and Radio City Music Hall). In October 2025 its assets were acquired by GR Seating, LLC, a joint venture of transit vehicle makers NFI Group and Gillig, with operations remaining in Grand Rapids.
