HVAC Technician

HVAC Technicians install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial facilities, diagnosing mechanical and refrigerant issues to keep climate control and related equipment running. Duties & responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures in compressors, chillers, and air handling units
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure proper operation and equipment longevity
  • Repair or replace faulty components in heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems
  • Test and verify refrigerant levels and system performance using diagnostic tools and instruments
  • Read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to understand system design and troubleshoot issues
  • Work independently to respond to both scheduled maintenance and emergency equipment failures
  • Maintain compliance with facility standards and documentation requirements for equipment service records
