Occupation
Foley Artist
A Foley Artist performs and records everyday sounds -- footsteps, cloth movement, object handling -- live to picture, using specialized foley recording techniques and a collection of props to match on-screen action with precise synchronization. They work in a foley stage alongside a foley mixer, recording into Pro Tools and using prop performance skills honed through practice and physical timing. This niche role in film and game post-production combines performance ability with technical sound effects creation expertise.
