What this role is
This role builds and enforces safeguards systems to keep Anthropic's AI products safe from misuse, with initial emphasis on age-appropriate design and protecting younger users. The position suits someone with trust and safety expertise who understands age verification systems, child online safety regulations, and the privacy-safety tradeoffs inherent in age gating.

What they ask for
Required
- Experience in trust and safety, online child safety, age assurance, privacy, or product policy
- Subject matter expertise in age assurance systems, age-appropriate design, child online safety, or privacy-preserving verification
- Experience driving cross-functional initiatives with product, engineering, legal, and policy teams
- Knowledge of age assurance regulatory frameworks including UK AADC, COPPA, and DSA
- Understanding of privacy and safety tradeoffs in age verification approaches
- Strong written communication skills for producing briefs and recommendations
- Ability to use data tools like SQL to measure enforcement effectiveness
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
Nice to have
- Experience building or operating age-gating flows or underage account detection systems
- Experience with appeals workflows for user appeals
- Experience advising third-party platforms on safe deployment to younger users
- Experience evaluating third-party age verification providers
- Interest in AI safety and responsible technology development
- Experience writing prompts for generative AI in content review contexts
