What they ask for

Required

  • 7+ years backend software engineering with Scala, Java, or similar JVM language
  • 7+ years designing and operating petabyte-scale distributed systems
  • 3+ years with Kafka, Pub/Sub, or equivalent streaming platforms
  • 3+ years building data pipelines on GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Professional experience with Finagle, gRPC, or Akka RPC frameworks
  • CI/CD, Git, code review, and automated testing practices
  • Experience building reusable frameworks or SDKs for other teams
  • Apache Beam experience including custom transforms and windowing
  • Change Data Capture patterns, especially MySQL binlog replication
  • Data encryption at rest and in transit with key management
  • Schema management, data governance, and data lineage frameworks at scale
  • Mentoring engineers and driving technical alignment through design reviews

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of LLMs, RAG, and semantic search
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container deployment
  • Experience with data catalog and data quality frameworks
