- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience including complex distributed or mission-critical systems
- 2+ years leading engineering teams with formal people management responsibilities
- Experience designing and building scalable production software architectures
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (EKS, S3, EC2, Aurora/RDS, SQS, SNS, Batch)
- Strong communication skills bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders
- U.S. citizen or eligible for required authorizations
Nice to have
- Master's degree in a relevant technical field
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience with high-availability or mission-critical software leadership
- 2+ years of experience in the geospatial industry
- MLOps and DataOps practice knowledge
- Experience with distributed compute environments like Kubernetes and Dask
- Strong Python or Golang proficiency for data ETL, microservices, geospatial, or analytics
- Knowledge of system safety, fault tolerance, redundancy, and recovery strategies
- Track record aligning engineering with product, sales, and executive leadership on roadmaps
- Experience balancing commercial production SLAs with program-specific requirements
