What they ask for
Required
- Seven or more years in accounting with significant revenue experience
- Own monthly or quarterly close from start to finish
- Review other accountants' work and provide actionable feedback
- Hands-on ASC 606 experience with consumption or drawdown models including prepaid commitments, credits, and overage
- Deep knowledge of material rights, breakage estimation, standalone selling price, allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications, and contract liabilities
- Perform data reconciliation with SQL, Python, or spreadsheet methodology
- Regular use of LLMs on revenue and accounting work
- Fluency with billing, revenue, payments, and GL systems
- Clear written communication of revenue topics to non-accounting stakeholders
- Active CPA or Big 4/national firm accounting foundation
Nice to have
- Experience preparing for or running a first external audit on revenue accounts
- Experience standing up revenue controls and ICFR or SOX revenue cycles
- Experience implementing or migrating a billing and revenue platform
- Management of both enterprise and self-serve revenue models
- Built a breakage or forfeiture estimate from scratch with historical data sourcing
- AI infrastructure, developer platform, or API-metered revenue experience
- Exposure to multi-entity or international revenue and intercompany mechanics
