What this role is
This role performs ultrasonic testing inspections on aerospace rocket components for a spaceflight manufacturer, interpreting data and developing inspection procedures to ensure vehicle reliability. The position suits experienced NDE professionals with aerospace background who can work independently and mentor others on second shift.

What they ask for
Required
- 5+ years aerospace ultrasonic testing experience
- Level II UT certification per NAS 410 or SNT-TC-1A with verifiable documentation
- Formal NDE classroom training in Ultrasonic Testing
- Demonstrated experience performing and evaluating UT on complex aerospace hardware
- Working knowledge of ultrasonic principles including sound propagation, attenuation, reflection, and mode conversion
- Contact ultrasonic inspection experience including straight-beam and angle-beam techniques
- A-scan data interpretation and indication evaluation
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Ability to travel 10–25%
Nice to have
- Certification or experience in RT, ET, PT, or VT
- Aerospace, spaceflight, or defense UT inspection experience
- Experience inspecting additively manufactured materials
- Advanced ultrasonic techniques (PAUT, encoded scanning, immersion UT)
- UT Thickness Testing and shear-wave inspection experience
- Development and qualification of part-specific UT techniques
- Immersion inspection system experience
- Automated ultrasonic inspection configuration experience
- UT experience on welds, forgings, machined components, bonded or additively manufactured hardware
- Knowledge of NAS 410, ASTM, AWS, ASME, AMS standards
- NDE feasibility studies and POD studies support
- CAD and engineering drawing experience for inspection planning
- Third-party NDE vendor oversight experience
- QA/QC, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement experience
