What this role is
Lead the materials and processes engineering team responsible for developing and qualifying materials across Relativity's Terran R rocket stages, collaborating with vehicle engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to keep the vehicle on schedule. What they ask for
Required
- Bachelor's degree in materials science, engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of materials and process engineering experience
- Proficiency in materials and processes qualification, failure analysis, experimental design, and allowables development
- 2+ years of demonstrated leadership with technical excellence, empathy, and inclusivity
Nice to have
- Experience across the full launch vehicle product lifecycle
- Experience with launch vehicle stage products including primary structures, mechanisms, fluid systems, and avionics
- Experience with launch vehicle materials including aluminum, nickel-based alloys, stainless steel, structural composites
- Experience with stage M&P disciplines such as fatigue and damage tolerance, corrosion, tribology, and oxygen compatibility
