  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 20 years experience in research, applied science, or product development (or Ph.D. with minimum 15 years)
  • Senior-level technical leadership experience
  • Experience informing business or innovation strategy
  • Ability to lead complex, ambiguous research initiatives with minimal direction
  • Strong strategic thinking and systems-level perspective
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to translate customer, technical, and business requirements into innovative solutions
  • Experience leading technical collaborations with internal teams and external partners
  • Track record of hands-on technical contribution combined with thought leadership and mentorship

Nice to have

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific or engineering field
  • Experience in regulated industries or complex electromechanical or healthcare-adjacent products
  • Demonstrated success with modeling, simulation, and experimentation for system design
  • History of external technical engagement through publications, patents, presentations, or industry collaboration
  • Business or strategy training such as MBA or equivalent experience in innovation and technology commercialization
