What they ask for
Required
- Law degree (JD, LLB, or equivalent) and local licensing to practice as in-house counsel
- Experience drafting and negotiating M&A transaction documents
- Deep understanding of transaction structures (stock purchases, asset purchases, mergers, acquihires, minority investments, joint ventures)
- Experience with both domestic and cross-border transactions
- Experience advising technology companies and startups
Nice to have
- 5-8 years of M&A legal experience at a nationally recognized law firm or in-house at a high-growth tech company
- Public company securities law compliance and SEC reporting experience
- Equity compensation experience in deal contexts
- AI, machine learning, or emerging technology company experience
- Experience building M&A playbooks, templates, or processes on lean teams
- Exceptional analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who can drive projects with minimal supervision
