What this role is

Together AI is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build distributed systems and cloud infrastructure for their AI acceleration platform, managing GPU scheduling, data center resources, and customer-facing services. This role suits experienced backend engineers comfortable with large-scale distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

What they ask for

Required

  • 5+ years building large-scale distributed systems and API microservices
  • Experience designing and improving efficiency and scalability of system resources
  • Ability to write clear design documents and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with high-performance or globally distributed microservice architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Strong systems knowledge: compute, networking, storage, concurrency, memory management, I/O performance, and scale
  • Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL
  • Expert-level programming in Golang or another language
  • Proficiency with version control and integrating IaC with CI/CD pipelines

Nice to have

  • Kubernetes and containers experience
  • Experience building and operating data infrastructure (Kinesis, Airflow, Kafka)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
