Required
- JD and active U.S. state bar membership (California or New York preferred)
- Fluency in life sciences industry structure and drug development
- Working knowledge of GxP, clinical data regulations, human-subjects research, and FDA processes
- Deep experience negotiating and drafting IP allocation in multi-party research arrangements
- Ability to translate legal risk into practical guidance for scientists and business partners
- Experience managing outside counsel across specialties
- Collaborative problem-solving approach
- Commitment to responsible AI development
Nice to have
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience including substantial life sciences transactional work
- Experience with AI/ML companies in regulated scientific and clinical settings, particularly drug discovery
- Familiarity with biosecurity, dual-use research, or export control in life sciences
- Experience using AI to optimize legal work
- Scientific or technical training
