Required

  • Bachelor's degree in materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, aerospace engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of professional experience in materials engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise in material selection, characterization, qualification, testing, and failure analysis
  • Experience across multiple material systems: metals, soft goods, coatings, powder metallurgy, welding, heat treatment
  • Proficiency with metallography, microscopy, and mechanical testing techniques
  • Track record of material and process decisions validated through flight or high-reliability hardware programs
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident or eligible for required ITAR authorization

Nice to have

  • Master's degree or PhD in materials science, chemical engineering, or related field
  • Experience architecting M&P programs for rocket systems across full development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with ASTM, NASA, AWS industry standards
  • Expertise in fracture mechanics, corrosion control, statistics, and failure analysis
