- Knowledge of transmission media and telecommunications system components
- Ability to troubleshoot and identify corrective measures for communications systems
- Knowledge of systems testing and evaluation principles

- JTAC Instructor or Evaluator certification
- Experience with High Performance Waveform and broadband satellite principles
