MS in Computer Science or related field
10+ years software engineering experience building/managing large scale data platforms
5+ years hands-on management experience leading distributed engineering teams
Experience building high-scale real-time or near-real-time data systems (minimum 100s TB/day)
Deep expertise in performance-tuning or developing internals in Spark, Flink, Iceberg, Pinot or equivalent streaming/OLAP systems
Production experience building Spark or Flink-based self-service data platforms
Strong experience with Apache Hadoop ecosystem technologies
Production coding experience in Java, Scala, Kotlin or JVM language
Production experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Experience with Terraform and configuration automation tools like Chef/Puppet/Ansible
Demonstrated track record of building and leading strong engineering teams
Experience building and managing cloud and on-premise Hadoop/Spark infrastructure on bare metal or Kubernetes
Strong cross-team collaboration and communication skills
Ability to attract and hire talent and grow teams
Experience managing remote teams across timezones
Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
Broad knowledge of high-technology industry from larger enterprise environments
Experience using AI to enhance decision-making and improve efficiency

Nice to have

Experience developing compute and storage layers for data platforms at high scale
Experience with hybrid cloud environments
Exposure to container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes
Experience managing distributed teams across multiple timezones
