What they ask for

Required

  • 4+ years payroll tax experience with complex defect resolution and notice response
  • Prior formal experience as a lead, senior specialist, or SME with documented coaching and training examples
  • Expert knowledge of US jurisdictional tax payment and filing regulations including local municipal systems
  • Advanced technical writing skills for Standard Operating Procedures without requiring revision
  • Demonstrated ownership of Service Level Agreements and proactive identification of workflow barriers
  • Validation-first approach: presenting vetted solutions to leadership rather than just problems
  • 5+ years handling highly sensitive customer and internal escalations with minimal guidance
  • 4+ years in contact center, customer service, or back-office operations in high-volume environments
  • Comfortable using and testing AI tools for daily tasks and workflow improvement

Nice to have

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation or achievable within 18 months
  • Enrolled Agent designation
  • Proficiency in Lean management practices including Daily Huddles and Gemba Walks
  • History of exceeding standard metrics with 95%+ personal quality accuracy
