  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering with control systems focus
  • 7+ years experience (or 6 years with Master's, or 4 years with PhD) in vehicle dynamics, flight controls, or simulation
  • C++ production experience
  • Matlab and Simulink experience
  • Expert knowledge of aircraft dynamics, control, stability, and handling qualities
  • Experience tuning and optimizing control systems in simulation and real-world environments
  • Ability to obtain SECRET clearance

Nice to have

  • Master's or PhD in relevant engineering discipline with control systems focus
  • Modern Control Theory expertise (LQR/LQG, Adaptive Control, Robust Control, MPC)
  • Ability to extract linear aircraft state space models from nonlinear equations of motion
  • Design or selection experience with servos, inertial navigation systems, air data units, or vision-based navigation
  • Kalman Filter knowledge
  • System identification techniques
  • Familiarity with git and continuous integration/delivery practices
