What they ask for
Required
- 7+ years building resilient backend systems for user-facing or B2B products
- Strong software engineering discipline with automated testing and regression protection
- Deep proficiency in Python or similar language and distributed systems design
- Production experience in cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure) with IAM and access controls
- Track record improving performance and reliability of ambiguous or legacy systems
- Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform or equivalent
- Docker and containerized services deployed with modern CI/CD workflows
- Scalable data model design with databases such as MongoDB
- Third-party API integration at scale with attention to performance, cost, and failure handling
- Observability tooling expertise for monitoring and debugging production systems
- Strong communication and ability to influence technical direction
- Active use of LLMs or AI tooling in engineering workflows
- Able to work in Seattle, Denver, or NYC office 2-3 days per week
- Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Nice to have
- Experience operating systems across multiple cloud providers
- Built or supported generative AI, LLM, or ML-powered systems
- Event-driven systems design using queues or streaming infrastructure
- Startup or high-growth environment experience
- Proficiency with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code
